In Her Eyes, detail

I would like to invite everyone to my upcoming solo show at The Martin Bachelor Gallery entitled In Her Eyes, opening Saturday, January 9, from 7-9pm.

The show is one I have been working on for the better part of 2009 and consists of series of self and other portraits, utilizing the technique of photopolymer gravure etchings, that are based on a series of photo shoots where I have been sometimes model, sometimes photographer, often both. In every instance I found that the experience yielded not only powerful images to work with but an unveiling of truths and a strengthening of bonds and friendships.

I am very proud of the works in this show. I feel they are the best I have ever done and I believe this is primarily because these are very personal artworks that were often created through an intimate, collaborative process.
