Well, we did it - published a catalogue of our upcoming show! You can find it here: http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/694033

You can preview the first fifteen of forty pages and order it directly as either a softcover, hardcover with dust jacket or hardcover with image wrap.

We will also be taking orders and have some hard copies available at our show openings, June 6th from 7-10pm and June 14th, 2-5pm at the Metchosin Community House, 4430 Happy Valley Road, Metchosin.

Lesley Pechter and I have been busy as bees preparing for our joint show at the Metchosin Community House in June. The artwork is almost completed, with some fabulous collaborative works that include not only creative inking on paper but straight stitching from our in house fabric artist, Sheila Lintaman! As our pieces are being completed so have the pieces fallen into place for our show events. While the opening reception promises to be an evening of wine and wonderful schmoozing with friends and colleagues, we are very excited about our Sunday afternoon of music and poetry. With the generous support of The West Shore Arts Council we have been able to engage master shakuhachi player, Alcvin Ruyzen Ramos and eminent koto player, Satomi Edwards to perform at this event which will coincide with the official opening of the Metchosin Arts And Cultural Center (see other news). You can check out the music at Mr. Ramos' myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/alcvintakegawaramos

We will also be honoured with a poetry reading by internationally acclaimed artist and arts advocate, Pat Martin Bates and award winning writers, Patricia Young and Terence Young. Put us on your calendar, this promises to be an enchanting afternoon!

It will be a day long affair of art, music and ribbon cutting, with the artists in The School House Studio taking part in making this a fun event for the whole family. Stay tuned for more details as the activities of the day become finalized.

Me in TC

In anticipation of the grand opening of the Metchosin Arts and Cultural Center on June 14, 2009, the Times Colonist ran an article on the various groups utilizing the premises, including the School House Studio, where Chiarina works out of. Here she is pictured pulling a print off of her etching press.
